Coaching, workshops, and courses to support the mental health, craft, careers, and lifestyles of writers.

I’ve worked with everyone from brand-new writers and lifelong scribblers to New York Times bestselling and critically-acclaimed published authors to high-powered literary agents who write in the margins of their day. Whoever you are, if you’re looking to build the writing life you long for, you belong here.

More about me here.

Below, just a few of my clients’ books.

From reading Heather’s books I knew she was a master of the craft. From reading her newsletter and joining the Well, I knew about her focus on working with writers from the inside out. She meets you where you’re at and helps you build from there.

I went in with a shapeless draft and a whole bunch of self-doubt, and left with a clear understanding of what makes my writing unique, a revision plan, and a more consistent meditation and mindfulness practice. Most importantly, I reconnected with why I write in the first place, who I write for, and a more sustainable practice that doesn’t run by any standards but my own.

My work with Heather was absolutely transformational.

When I signed up for coaching I was knee deep in my fourth book for publication. I was also exhausted, burned out, and doubting my ability to continue on my path as an author. Heather was an excellent listener and an absolute wealth of knowledge. I found our phone conversations to be particularly helpful as we walked through the aspects of my relationship with writing that were not working for me.

I left each session with a page full of new insights and ideas (and best of all, hope!), and as soon as I began implementing her techniques, I felt my relationship with writing (and myself) deepen and expand.

Before working with Heather, my own process had always felt like a giant mystery to me—it basically felt like fighting my way through a chaotic cloud before somehow managing to emerge with a book in hand. Every book felt like a miracle that I was afraid I would not be able to replicate.

Heather not only insisted that I have a writing process, she helped me figure out what mine is (hint: it is absolutely nothing like the many craft books I’d read in a desperate attempt to make writing easier, and yes, I DO have a process!). By figuring out how my brain tells stories, I felt a lot of anxiety and uncertainty lift, and for the first time I felt true confidence in my ability to complete my work.

I ended up learning a brand new technique for mapping out my plots and was able to complete my novel. The practices and techniques Heather has taught me have brought me confidence, peace (really!), and restored my joy in writing. I can’t recommend working with Heather enough!

Writing, Espionage, & Mindfulness

It was a delight sharing so many of my passions in one conversation. I hope our talk gives you lots to think about. Breathe. Write. Repeat!

Heather is an amazing teacher with so much compassion and warmth. She not only understood my stumbling blocks with meditation, she helped me to overcome them and gave me the foundational tools to have a lifelong meditation practice that supports me in my life and in my writing practice.

When I came to her for coaching, I was in the grips of the worst writer’s block and anxiety I’d ever experienced. By the time we finished our work together, I was happier, more productive, and more balanced than I’d been in years. But don’t take my word for it: check the numbers.

The year before I worked with Heather on integrating my meditation and writing practice, I wrote 50,000 words and threw out 40,000 of them. The year after I worked with her, I wrote (and kept!) 500,000 words.
