Words. A hot mug of tea. Snuggling under a blanket with a pen and some paper. Welcome to the coziest retreat this season.

Please note: This retreat is for female-identifying and femme writers only. 🙏

The meditations offered during the workshop opened my consciousness to so much possibility that I found myself inspired with new ideas for three different projects. I found the meditations on self-compassion to be more helpful than expected too. They helped us as writers to get out of the way of ourselves and generate writing from a deeper knowing. I appreciated the time to then delve into the writing, too.
— Annette Lucksinger, Cozy Mini Retreat 2023

Two times a year, we get cozy.

Welcome to the December 2025 Retreat!

✨ This winter solstice retreat is going to be a luscious year-end celebration of all the words we’ve written, dreamed, and a time for honoring the past years and releasing what needs to be let go and opening up to what wants to be let in.

We’ll be setting some intentions for the new year and working with somatic mindfulness to listen to what our bodies have to tell us.✨

When I first conceived of this mini retreat, I basically wanted to step into a story like Little Witch Hazel, a genre of picture book I love where anthropomorphic creatures live in cozy dens. As a child - okay, even now - I wanted to live at the base of a tree, with a rounded hobbit door. I'd wear felt slippers and sleep under quilts and live by candlelight, eating berries from my neighbors, the deer. Braided rugs under my feet, cups of hot cocoa, a roaring fireplace despite the fact that I live in a tree.

How to do that in retreat form? I jumped onto Canva and made a little story of what I hope this retreat will feel like for you…all these little images are the sweetness I hope to bring us this December. 💗

Basically, this is the COZIEST writing afternoon. Before the retreat, I'll be sending out a few suggestions on how to prep. It includes some pre-retreat support, like taking more smallish naps, finding the perfect pair of thick socks, deciding on your hot beverages, and why sweats are your friend.

You will have opportunities to grow as a writer with the work we do, but it's all held in tender restfulness, channeling Little Witch Hazel herself.

What We’ll Be Doing

Over 3 Hours (with breaks for stretching and nourishment), we’ll be dipping into…

  • This one is extra special, because it includes a sound healing session from yours truly. I’m so excited. I got my first sound certification over the summer, bought three gorgeous bowls, chimes, and other fun things. We’ll be doing a guided session that will set a foundation for you to explore where you’ve been and where you’re going. Sound healing is deeply nourishing and has been a transformative practice for me, opening up blocked emotionally channels and clearing stagnant energy. I hope it can be so for you, too!

  • Somatic mindfulness exercises to get into our bodies and listen to what they have to say to us. Dress comfortably!

  • There will be exploratory writing prompts around the Wheel of Fortune, which is the tarot card for 2026.

And, of course, there will be LOTS of candlelight! Bring your cocoa and tea. Your favorite pens and journals. Your pillows and yoga mats. Your big hearts and imaginations.

These three hours are for YOU.

In order to make this as accessible as possible, I've created a sliding scale. I don't plan to record this because, really, would you even have time to listen to it? So come. Commune with words and coziness and writing sisters.

I wish you this as we navigate the winter season of going inward.
